
The Cormiers are a family group whose musical roots are firmly entrenched in their Scottish/French background. Originally from Codroy Valley, they now live in Conception Bay South, Newfoundland. Over the past few years, The Cormiers have entertained at many of Newfoundland & Labrador’s major music festivals such as Exploits Salmon Festival, Fogo’s Brimstone Festival, Codroy Valley Folk Festival, to name a few. They have participated in many benefit concerts including VOCM Happy Tree, Janeway Celebration Concert and Lillies for Lily. They have performed to capacity crowds in several Ontario venues including the North Bay Heritage Festival with Aaron Lines and Carolyn Dawn Johnson. They have also shared the stage with Sammy Kershaw and Lori Morgan at St. John's Mile One Centre and the Exhibition Grounds in Truro.

At the MusicNL awards on Nov 06/05, The Cormiers took home 4 awards including Roots Group/Group/Album & Socan Song of the Year. They are are currently nominated for 4 more MusicNL awards which will be handed out on October 28 in St. John’s.
They have showcased at ECMA’s, Canadian Music Week, Contact East and Alberta Contact. Other showcase venues include North American Folk Alliance in Austin, Texas & Pacific Contact in Vancouver, BC.
The Cormiers have four albums to their credit with the latest release “Coming Home”, already becoming a favourite amongst their fans.
The Cormiers feel they have come full circle with the latest CD produced by Gordon Cormier. Their music is emerging into a modern folk sound and they are pleased to bring this Celtic style of music to you!
